“What would Dave say?” has been the common phrase tossed around my house lately. So much so, that I even joked about getting a sign for the kitchen that had the phrase written on it. What’s so funny is that we are actually serious when we say it. Every time we pick up our favorite foods, we refer back to Dave Asprey’s food roadmap. It explains what foods range from good to bad according to Asprey. In his book, “The Bulletproof Diet” he breaks it down and explains why you should steer away from certain foods. Not only am I hooked, but my friends and family are as well.
In fact, if you opened my pantry you’d probably think we were starting our own Bulletproof coffee shop.
THE BULLETPROOF DIET
You’ve all heard me raving about it, but why??
Partly because I may be slightly obsessed with Dave, but partly because of the following reasons:
- I have been full of energy.
- Not craving sugar, or anything really!
- I lost 6 pounds – also maintained my muscle and strength!
- I’m a happier gal.
I hate the word diet because I feel like people always interpret that to starving themselves and eating small amounts of low fat prepackaged food. This is actually the complete opposite! He suggests you eat more veggies, meat, and good fat. (He had me at, chocolate.) We also can’t forget I start every day with a cup of his coffee filled with ghee, brain octane oil, and collagen protein.
I have NOT ONCE felt deprived since following Dave’s guide.
You’ll have to read the book for the full details but I would never steer my Peaches in the wrong direction. I love this way of eating, and I’ve never felt healthier. I am not saying this is what you NEED to do because everyone is different, BUT the basic fundamentals in his book are a great way to learn about eating healthier, and more mindfully. He not only tells you what to eat, but WHY you should eat it – which is why I found it so intriguing.
I’m not a big reader, but I read through the book in no time. In fact, I’m already on his second book.. but you’ll have to wait for my review to know the deets.
So stay tuned!!
